The kitchen's done!

We're done painting, and we added a few pictures back in, so it's pretty much done. We still need to add drawer pulls, but that's pretty minor. It looks awesome, right?!

Dave is awesome

Dave finished tiling on Wednesday, and it looks amazing. We couldn't be happier.

We finished painting on Friday night, and now we're working on putting pictures back up and getting everything loaded back into the kitchen. Pictures soon!

New granite

It's gorgeous! Poor Matt was staying with us the weekend the guys were installing the granite, and it was super loud and smelly. There's nowhere to escape to in a condo, we just had to endure the ruckus. Well worth it, though, I'm loving it. Doesn't look quite right with the yellow walls, but that will change soon enough.

Still need to add knobs and pulls to the doors and drawers, hopefully in the next couple of days.

Painting the cabinets

We set up shop in the garage to paint the cabinet doors. Quite a process: 1 coat of primer + 3 coats of paint, sanding inbetween each coat.

All done! You can also see how useless our kitchen was for a few days. (Don't laugh Elise, I know you guys have it much worse.)

We're getting a new kitchen!

Yahoo! So far we're about halfway through renovating our kitchen. We've painted our cabinets and had new granite installed, and we still have to have new tile put on the backsplash and paint the walls.

Because I'm having trouble remembering HTML code and it's screwing up my post, each group of pictures is getting their own posting, damn it.

Happy Halloween!

We had the 2nd annual carving party at our place the weekend before Halloween. Same group of folks, same techniques, same roasting of the pumpkin seeds, and the same jack-o-lantern winner. Damn you Dave. I'm gunning for you next year.

Scott and I also carved pumpkins on Halloween night, which is a tradition I'd like to keep. Even if Scott did "quit" on his pumpkin after a while.

Speedy's adventures

Flat Speedy had quite a big adventure as well. He's not used to seeing much more than our living room, and the occasional cat walking by. He seems to have had a good time, though. Look at that smile!
